About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Tasmania and am a Certified Financial Planner practitioner, a Fellow of the Financial Services Institution of Australia (FINSIA) and an Affiliate of the Financial Planning Association of Australia. I have also completed the Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning and Graduate Diploma of Risk and Insurance through Deakin University.I have received several awards, including being named in the Top 10 Certified Financial Planning practitioners in Australia for the Australian Financial Review Smart Investor Magazine ‘Masterclass’ for 2007 and 2013.I joined the finance industry in 1997, working for major international banking and investment houses in Melbourne and London before returning to Tasmania and joining Shadforth Financial Group in 2002.A regular speaker on a range of financial planning issues, I am currently a lecturer for Adult Education Tasmania and have served as Treasurer of the Hobart Chapter of the Financial Planning Association.I have strong technical skills with extensive knowledge of markets, investments, superannuation, taxation planning, Centrelink and retirement planning. I regularly attend adviser briefings and technical sessions to keep my knowledge current.I work with wealth accumulators and specialise in helping pre-retirees and retirees develop optimal strategies for their retirement.
