About Me

Ashley holds Commerce and Economics degrees from the University of Queensland, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. Ashley joined Ellwood Barry McPherson (EBM), a founding member of Shadforth Financial Group in 1997. In 2000 he moved to a Chartered Accounting firm before returning to EBM in 2003 as an adviser and qualifying for the 2004 Personal Investor Top 50 MasterClass. Ashley was also ranked in the top 50 financial advisers across Australia through the prestigious AFR Smart Investor Masterclass for Financial Planning in 2004 and 2013. Ashley was appointed a Director of EBM in 2006. He remains active in developing the Group’s investment philosophy and process, as an Investment Management Group member. Ashley’s expertise lies in developing highly effective wealth accumulation and retirement planning strategies for clients and in effective portfolio construction.Ashley is a keen sports follower, especially golf and cricket, and an enthusiastic overseas traveller and wine collector.
