About Me

Hi, I’m Geoff.
If you are reading this, you’ve probably already gathered that I’m not what you might call a ‘traditional’ financial planner. I don’t just crunch the numbers and talk about returns on investment and capital growth. I’m an advisor who puts a purposeful life, financial wellbeing and legacy at the heart of all my financial plans.

I started my career as an accountant and followed the traditional pathway of completing my professional year and becoming a chartered accountant before undertaking further studies in financial planning. I then had a career-defining opportunity to work as a specialist estate planning and succession planning consultant for a large accounting firm with a strong regional base.

It was during this time that I realised accounting, taxation and financial planning were not just about numbers and money. And that estate planning and transition planning was an area that was often poorly completed if completed at all.

Importantly, there was a story behind the numbers, so I began helping my clients plan their legacy and assisting them in understanding what the next chapter of their life could be so that they had the confidence to transition to that stage successfully.

I learnt that financial planning should not be merely transactional advice, but ongoing advice aligned with my clients’ real-life circumstances and events. Life did not stand still, and events and circumstances changed frequently.

So, my approach is to take the time to understand my clients’ stories, what they wanted to leave as their legacies, what they saw as their financial wellbeing and what they wanted their new chapters of life to be.

However, what makes me different is my genuine desire to create meaningful difference in my clients’ lives. I do this by aligning their financial decisions with their values and underlying purpose in life to create financial plans that are good for their souls.

When I’m not creating Head and Heart Financial Plans, you’ll find me swimming in open water events or training at the pool. Despite growing up on the goldfields of Kalgoorlie, I love swimming and the beach and try to incorporate it into my daily activities to stay mentally, physical and emotionally healthy.
I also enjoy watching and being involved with my children’s sporting activities and playing tennis with my wife…which is how we met.
