About Me

I am the senior adviser at our family-owned financial planning practice in Circular Quay, Sydney. In 2017, I joined the practice, which my father, the principal, had established over 25 years ago. Financial planning was a common topic in our household growing up, and I saw firsthand the incredible impact my father made on his clients' lives, especially at the many Christmas parties he held each year where clients would share stories of how he had positively impacted their lives. This sparked my passion for using my skills to help others achieve financial stability.

In 2021, following my father's health issues, I took over the practice. Since then, I have had the pleasure of continuing the relationships we've built with our clients over the years, often looking after multiple generations within the same family.

My background includes a range of qualifications, such as a degree in Commerce (Liberal Studies), with majors in Economics, Finance, and Psychology, as well as a Diploma in Financial Planning and other certifications in specialist areas since 2017. Our practice primarily specialises in assisting clients over the age of 50 who are preparing for retirement, high net worth individuals and families, and providing advice on Centrelink benefit eligibility and aged care.

Our philosophy is to offer holistic advice and consider the big picture, focusing on our clients' goals, concerns, and current circumstances. A good financial plan looks at multiple areas, not just one, such as investing an inheritance or increasing one’s superannuation balance. A strong financial foundation includes having up-to-date estate plans, long-term wealth-building strategies, and tax minimization options.

Education is an essential part of our approach, and we aim to help clients understand our recommendations while keeping our strategies and investments as simple and low-cost as possible. We believe the industry can sometimes overcomplicate matters, and we strive to keep things straightforward where we can. We also focus on good diversification and minimizing investment and longevity risks where possible. Our strategies, which have been specifically designed to achieve these goals, have stood the test of time through events like COVID-19, the Global Financial Crisis, and other financial downturns since the mid-1980s.

We believe that financial planners are a crucial part of a client's financial team, working closely with their lawyers, accountants, and mortgage brokers when needed. We also have strong referral contacts for tax and legal services if necessary.

Our practice has a strong commitment to the community, providing above-and-beyond services to our clients in areas that aren't always directly related to financial advice. We do this simply because we care about our clients and their families. We are also passionate about increasing the number of retirees who can afford secure housing in retirement, as we believe this is key to safety and security in later years. We support this mission through various charities, community organizations, and pro bono work.

Outside of work, I enjoy balancing my time in the office with outdoor activities such as running, surfing, or volunteering with the State Emergency Service (SES). I also have a passion for woodwork and have crafted a number of pieces over the years.

In the years to come, I look forward to our practice assisting more Australians, particularly those over 50 who are preparing for retirement, those needing help navigating the complexities of Centrelink and aged care funding, and high net worth individuals and families, providing them with structure and certainty for long-term growth.
